About PBIAC

Born in the Permian Basin. Built for the Indie Book Community.

The Permian Basin Indie Author Con began with a simple idea: create a destination where independent authors and readers can come together, discover new stories, build connections, and celebrate the growing world of independent publishing.

PBIAC may call the Permian Basin home, but it isn’t limited by geography. Our goal is to welcome authors, readers, vendors, and book lovers from across Texas, New Mexico, the surrounding states, and beyond.

With the Permian Basin positioned at the crossroads of West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, PBIAC has the opportunity to bring together communities that often have to travel much farther to attend large-scale book events.

PBIAC™ is being built as a regional destination with a reach far beyond the region.

More Than a Local Book Event

PBIAC is not being created simply to fill a room with tables.

We want readers to discover authors they may never have encountered otherwise. We want independent authors to meet new audiences face-to-face. We want bookish businesses, creators, publishing professionals, and readers to have a place where they belong to the same community for a day.

Whether someone travels twenty miles or a thousand, the goal is the same: come because you love books, and leave having discovered something new.

Our Mission

To connect independent authors and readers through an accessible, welcoming convention that celebrates books, strengthens the indie publishing community, and brings literary experiences to the Permian Basin.
