The inaugural Permian Basin Indie Author Con is coming in 2027, bringing independent authors and readers together in the Permian Basin for a convention built around books, discovery, and community.
PBIAC may be based in West Texas, but we want authors from Texas, New Mexico, surrounding states, and beyond to join us.
Why PBIAC?
Independent authors work hard to build their readership, and sometimes the hardest part is simply getting books in front of new people.
PBIAC is being created to give authors a place to connect directly with readers, showcase their work, meet other writers, and take part in a convention centered on independent publishing.
This is more than a table and a chair. We want PBIAC to be an experience where authors can build relationships, introduce readers to their stories, participate in programming, and become part of a growing book community.

Who Can Apply?
PBIAC is focused on independent authors and the wider indie publishing community.
Authors may represent a wide range of genres and audiences, including fiction, nonfiction, romance, fantasy, thriller, mystery, horror, faith-based work, children’s books, young adult, poetry, memoir, and more.
Authors with a combination of independent, small-press, hybrid, or traditionally published work may also be considered as long as they are participating as part of the independent-author community.
Formal eligibility requirements will be published when applications open.

We are currently finalizing the venue, date, author capacity, table options, pricing, and participation policies for PBIAC 2027.
Completing the Author Interest Form does not guarantee acceptance, reserve a table, or require payment. It simply makes sure you’re among the first authors notified when official applications open.
